Dark Industryby KonadorComment: The orange/golden tones of the sunset is great. Both the sunset enhances the silhouettes and the silhouettes enhance the sunset. Power lines are not a usual setting for a sunset shot but it works. Nicely captured. |

First Kiss of Lightby ToddhComment: Very breathtaking! The title sums up this photograph pretty well. It certainly sets a mood. Slighly over dark on the right, but nothing too horrid, the water and its reflection is good. Well captured! |

African Violets in the Morningby silverleafComment: This has such a wonderfully soft feel to it. The texture and light of the leaves is amazing. It also seems very sharp where it needs to be, and the shadows enhance the lighting wonderfully. The one negative thing that does stand out is the highlight in the lower right that seems to be a little too bright, but it doesnt pull away from the enjoyment of the photograph. Nicely shot. |

"It's a beautiful life"by kengurinnComment: I'm not usually a fan of the big blurry sun in a picture, but I think in this particular image it works well, and without it I dont think it would have had the same impact. The tone is wonderful, the fact that you can see the details in the surrounding environment is great, it looks perfectly exposed. The silver-like reflection of the sand is good. I also like that they are in silhouette so that you dont have to spend too long looking at the detail of them but just enjoy the entire scene. The lighting certainly sets the mood here, and the title reflects that mood well. |

Early Morning Lightby dan_pendletonComment: The trees are very sharp and contrast nicely against the blue sky. The ground is not just the usual straight line so it holds some interest as well, esp as it seems to dip just below the sun as it breaks through the clouds. The three shafts or light flare, which in other shots can be annoying actually works very well in this image. The mood is set and it's a very uplifting photograph. Nicely spotted and taken. |

Tower Bridge After Darkby pinbackComment: Very clear image, the water is good, the soft reflection is a nice touch. The glow of the lights on the bridge is a good highlight, and the shadows at the top contrast nicely. The 'star' lights are minimal enough to add something and not distract. Compositionally it's good. A well-executed bridge at night shot. |

Evening Lightby Spanish_GreaseComment: Very simple yet effective. The blue glow is very appealing. The slight opening between the blinds is almost teasing, trying to see what's out there. |

Rigatoni Loversby A WeaverComment: I think this would have looked better without the utensils. As it is they are a little distractin, especially with the blown out tips. The vibrant mix of color of the food is enough on its own, and I like the herbs/parsley/stuff on the edge of the bowl/plate. |

Greek salad with Avocado & Hallumi Cheeseby Apollo2077Comment: The range and varying colors here are good, it looks fresh, and fairly sharp. The main problem I see are the overblown whites, mainly on the rind of the lemon slices and the cheese(?) in the top right. They seem to dominant the image. |

Pod Buddiesby DiamondPeteComment: It's a little dark and seems a little soft for that reason. Placing elements in the center of the photo can work sometimes, but I think in this instance it doesnt really add that much. There doesnt appear to be much happening, it's just there, and not really very appetizing. Perhaps a more dramatic light and a tighter crop could have improved it some. |
