Day1: shooesby booboo_goonComment: Don't stop there.
If you want to mess around with lighting when you don't have any (I mean, when you're not using studio lighting) then reflective surfaces such as white walls or windows (if you're outside) can get you a little bit of fill light in the shadows. If you're really up to it then you can wield portable reflective surfaces like white cards and mirrors . . .
Or not . . . |

Artisan Potato-Scallion Breadby Bear_MusicComment: I gave this 9, which is more than I gave anything else and I gave a lot of threes out for this challenge. Looking through the field, it seems that the texture and colour of bread are difficult and elusive. Maybe your 'plain jane processing' comment could provide a clue :-)
You're welcome to pop in for coffee at the indignation and disillusionment society cantine. |

The Bread Guyby MelethiaComment: I think maybe 11, but unfortunately . . . Has he sold that car yet? Lovely shot, Deb - to hell with the scores (except the good ones, which you may recognise) |

Give Us Our Daily Bread, Wine and Grapesby cyanComment: Nearly everything except the bread comes out well with regard to texture and material likeness in this picture, but, as a picture, it might well work better with the grapes end cropped out. Tough subject. |

Mom's PB&J.by LonzComment: There's not much bread in this and the stuff in the middle looks inedible. It's probably culture specific. |

The Seat of Tearsby posthumousComment: Wotcha neighbour! Does this mean you'll be bringing the lawnmower back some time soon?
More wobbling lip than eyes, but this is a lovely (painful, sad, gut wrenching) shot for sure. |
