No, I didn't make him cry. A bad lighting situation, so I leaned on my sexy lens to make it happen. Of course, this photo is going to get creamed but I think it is quite emotional.

I converted to b/w and then turned down the opacity to let some color through. I used brightness/contrast to up the contrast.

===post-challenge===

People, people! He was crying about having to go or having to stay or what he was going to wear. Something along those lines.

I think you got the focus spot-on here. Makes me want to bawl right along with him. :) And as for soft focus, did you ever try to focus your eyes when you're weeping? Do things look pin-sharp then? You have helped us see through his eyes.

Wotcha neighbour! Does this mean you'll be bringing the lawnmower back some time soon?

More wobbling lip than eyes, but this is a lovely (painful, sad, gut wrenching) shot for sure.

This reminds me of a long lost memory, but captured on film. Wow!
Absolutely stunning, sweet, emotional and full of wonder. So if it wasn't you... exactly what made him cry? NOT the sexy lens, I hope.

no contest at all for the brown. Poor show in terms of showing poorly.

Oh I did like this one and I thought the face was a scream. ONLY because when my kids make poo faces like this, it makes me laugh. I'm mean, what can I say. Adorable photo and I love the glints of light in his eyes.

Would have preferred a tighter crop, would make more impact as you already managed to capture the emotion in her eyes 6
