The Stalkerby CuttoothComment: I've heard (read) it said that it's better to do the USM or whatever sharpening, after resizing, rather than before. It makes sense to me, what with the edges being prone to abuse during resizing, but I'm a lot less sure about the perceptible difference. I think this is a good shot and perfectly, or at least well, focussed. The edges and the body of the little fellah don't look too sharp though. May have something to do with the nature of the beast, i.e. that translucence. Larger format might have helped.
Anyway he's dead cute and I'm glad you got him in here. :-) |

Knik Riverby ShutterPugComment: Very beautiful. I'm not so sure about the call of the wild, though. I think I get more of the fear of the wild from this. As in wild is wild and it's not easy on humans. I guess that means I got a fair bit of feeling out of the picture. No mean feat. :-) |

Mourning Doveby cynthiannComment: Thanks for all the info on the patience and the logistics. That goes a long way to explaining how you got such an impossibly great shot. Iconicly good - thanks. |

week 03 - Sunset from my Balconyby boyd2000Comment: Wow, that was worth going out for. Nice to get it in the 'home' series, too.
Selective colour/ neutrals / up the magenta can have a good effect on something like this - or just play around with the sliders. Mind you, we're always just one slip of the mouse away from making the miracle of nature into a gaudy mess :-) |

The Bluesby jhess77Comment: Tell me he's not living in there.
I've no local knowledge to let me into the picture, so it's opaque.
Well put together, though. |

PaW 2009 Week 3: Bareby marcbentonComment: Certainly fits well in the theme? theme :)
Funny how ghost-like images can do so much to recall the experience of an outing. This gives mood. |

Ingredientsby Covert_OddityComment: Yeah - macro enough. There's the one-to-one size ratio on the film plane school of macro definition and there's the one-to-one finished print school... I think the vernacular definition would have to somewhere around 'surprisingly close'. Not that yer actual definition is much to do with anything here, but it's a good smack-in-the-eye close-up, so... |
