This one isn't technically a macro so not so mysterious as my last two, but it was the best of the lot from this shoot so I decided to go with it and bend my own rules slightly.

Perhaps it's not a macro, but it's a fantastic closeup image. I like the shallow DOF, but wonder how it would look if at least part of the limes were in focus. I also like the fact that you have limes what appears to be a mortar and pestle.

I like the grainwork and bright colour to complement the subject.

PAW - Aesthetically I like the DOF, the stone M&P and limes. Good composition, though it would be nice to have some limes in focus. Practically, there are much better ways to squeeze a lime. Then you can put it in the coconut and drink them both up.

Very nice colors and lighting. I am not sure if it will exactly qualify for your macro theme. DNMC ;o)

Ummm, limes and rocks. I really like the color / textures combos.

Sweet shot. I would think that squashing limes with a mortar and pestle would make a huge mess.

I like the subject matter, but the limes need to be in focus.

Nice. I, too, am liking the light.

Not a macro, but a good close up. I would have liked to see the fruit more in focus. Nice detail capture of the mortar and pestal.

Perhaps it's not a macro by definition, but it definitely looks like one! Very nice with the limes (?). Interesting light, but perhaps a little too much on the right. Draws a lot of attention without being in focus.

Cool light, it looks especially good on the mortar and pestal.

It's macro enough - nice detail on the mortar thingie and the green adds good color.

Yeah - macro enough. There's the one-to-one size ratio on the film plane school of macro definition and there's the one-to-one finished print school... I think the vernacular definition would have to somewhere around 'surprisingly close'. Not that yer actual definition is much to do with anything here, but it's a good smack-in-the-eye close-up, so...
