Would look great with one of the painting filters for a Christmas card.

He looks like he needs a hairbrush :) (featherbrush?)

Even more than the hummy I really like the lines in this. The vine just swoops my eye thru' the whole shot, and the splashes of red add both colour and context.

I was going to say that you are the master but I see that posthumous has already elevated you to the rank of god, so I'll have to go with that instead :)

I gave this an 8 and the purple cast is all that kept it from scoring higher.

(I would have guessed Pinus contortus :) )

I was one of your 8's. The colour gives an almost post-apocolyptic feel, and yet the tree still survives. The darkness of it makes it a strong focal point. Every time I look at the shot I first look at the columns, of course, but it doesn't take long for my eye to go back to the tree and stay there longer. Every time, even when I try to keep looking at the columns.

I like :)

eta after another look; the total blankness of the background, as if it's the ends of the earth, add to the feeling of isolaton and desolation.

And for me the busyness is part of the appeal. My eye immediately goes to the tree and gazebo then the bench and people, so there's no doubt what the main subject is, but then I enjoyed looking at the little details that add up to a lovely setting. I gave you an 8.

And I'm glad you left the warm tones. That's just one more lovely thing for my eye to explore :)

The lighting was the only thing that let this down for me. Other than the flatness, I like your interpretation of the challenge :)
