M42 (Orion Nebula)

Trusty M42 never fails to impress astronomy buffs and laymen alike. People are always kind of confused when I point out that "fuzzy star" belove Orion's belt and tell them they're looking at a nebula. Excellent image here, you've captured a great amount of detail that is sometimes washed out by the Trapezium.

Oh goodness this is an amazing shot. It has an almost ludicrous, Loony Tunes-esque quality to it. Amazing that you got a shot when they all had their mouths open.

the forest

I like the picture a lot, but I think you should've used mori for the kanji representation instead (three trees arranged in a triangle instead of two side by side). My understanding is that "mori" has more the connotation of forest, and also, odd numbers of things jive better with Japanese aesthetic.

This is a very worthy recipient of a ribbon. I'm usually not a fan of IR photography, but this really works. You're absolutely right, this does have 'magic'.

This is lovely. The water miniscuses puckering around the edges give it a soft contour. This might be good as B&W photo as well.

This is a stunning shot. The angle of all the dogs is great on that corner. The one white dog in the center left - the way the muzzle is reflecting the light it looks like a mouth full of vicious teeth.

I like this shot a lot. It's got a great range of colors and good composition. Only one thing bothers me from a post-processing point of view - that little splotch of cloud directly above the mountain/cliff in the background is kind of distracting and something I would've cloned out. The other clouds streaking across the sky really enhanced the image, however.
