Dangerous Potluck Club (...who will get food poisoning this week?)by GentleSoulComment: Greetings from the Critique Club Elizabeth!
First impression: Good shot. Needs a bit more color to appease the voters but I find it quite nice.
Tough image for me to critique as the technicals are pretty much all there. The lighting leaves the color a bit flat but I don't think that's what hurt your overall score here. The thing that got you is the added "blurb". People really toughened up on images that even had an "a" in between the words (Don't Pour "a" Coke, Did "a" Peacock Crow) so I'm not surprised yours was voted down for adding more info in parenthesis. Other than that I think it's fine.
Overall a good image.
Thanks for the opportunity to critique this photo Elizabeth!

Daring Poppins' Comebackby scared_of_the_darkComment: Greetings from the Critique Club Lawrence!
Initial impression: Good shot and creatively fitting title. The color of the sky to the left is very nice and the subject is certainly beautiful.
As was mentioned below, the sky on the right side of the image is blown out which causes a bit of a distraction. It's a shame mother nature didn't work with you here and give you the same sky overall. This would've helped to make it fron page material. Also, while the 1/80 shutter speed gives her a sense of movement it also caused a bit of overall blur which also might have hindered you from a better score (not to say 6.03 is bad but you know what I mean). I think her being totally frozen in mid air would've worked out better rather than showing movement.
Overall a lovely image and great idea that you should be proud of.
Thanks for the opportunity to critique your photo Lawrence.

Displeased & Pretty Cross!by 777STANComment: Greetings from the Critique Club Stan!
First off, I like her placement in the image and of course the title is great. Her expression is priceless and you captured it nicely.
As far as technicals go, the color seems a bit too saturated. Also, you might have had to expose the way you did to bring her out but it has blown the background, her right arm and leg out in the process. You'll also need to take advantage of the 640 pixels. When you use anything much smaller you already start out at a disadvatnge with the voters.
Overall a good capture of the expression.
Thanks for the opportunity to critique this image Stan.

P5080161.jpgby GabrielComment: Ha. I was just browsing through the "recently uploaded photos" section and ran across this. I was going to tell you how lovely it was but would be better if the bottom distractions were cropped out. I decided to go to your profile and saw that you already did that and also got your second highest score. Beautiful shot! |

Celloby kevrobertsonComment: Like it a lot. Not too soft and not too sharp. Works well here and the crop was nicely done. |
