The Fragileby Elvis_LComment: I gotta say, tears welled up big time when I saw this pic. I didn't even have to read the story behind it to get this emotion. My first son was born a month ago. Healthy child indeed and not a problem to even mention. I would not even want to begin to imagine your feelings at the time that pic was taken. Odd thing is, several months ago I wouldn't have given this shot a second look. Amazing what a new life will do a man's selfishness.
So glad to know your son is doing great now. Message edited by author 2006-07-26 10:42:57. |

Waterlines IIby puzzledComment: Nice work. When I saw the thumbnail I thought, "The halo won't work", but when I opened it up I was pleasantly surprised. The glow is excellent! Good job. |

Anticipationby PedroComment: This is so cool Peter. Has such an old feel to it and the angle makes it. Looks like he felt the same way I did on that special day. |

Train to Nowhereby neophyteComment: Greetings from the Critique Club Dexter!
At first glance I like the shot. The expression is great and Sierra is ceertainly a beautiful subject. The crop is nice as is the shutter speed used to show motion.
My critiques would be just a couple of things. The blue cast is a bit too.....well.....blue. While it is lovely, I think a high contrast black and white or sepia might've worked a bit better for this type of image to show desolation. The other thing is that, while it is a nice picture, it doesn't really scream desolation to me. I think her clothes and the way she was wearing them sorta hindered you from recieving the high votes needed to place in the top ten. The emblem on the shirt looks to be something "sporty" (it may not be but it does look that way) and how she has it unzipped seems to be more sultry than desolate.
Overall a nice image that Sierra should be proud to hang on her wall.
Thanks for the opportunity to critique this shot Dexter.
Cheers - Phil
