Very cool idea and props. I have the feeling that there's just too many elements in there at the moment. I appreciate you took the shot as you saw it but for competition purposes, you might have been able to get even more drama into it by 'posing' the elements

The contrast on the edges of the broken pieces is superb. The whole light values are really good and with the nice touch of the liquid still in the glass.

Initially I couldn't work out what it was. If I hadn't been commenting (and therefore HAVING to work it out) I would have given it 1 and moved on.

Because it's not just the ball, but the backboard too, a wider cropping might have told the story more clearly. You obviously thought the mono colour treatment worked better, probably for that grungy, desolate look so you diddn't have the benefit of the colour to clearly identify all the elements.
