Oh and another thing I learnt from this challenge is that three smaller passes with the smart sharp filter in CS2 is better than one big one.

I've always admired those clear glass pictures with no reflections, but thought it would be too hard to do, so never attempted it until now.

Decided my shower looked like a light tent so tried shooting glass in there - bad idea. Horrible white reflections all over the glass. Then I read hughletheren's excellent "How'd They Do That?" tutorial. //www.dpchallenge.com/how.php?HOW_ID=38 The secret really is to shoot with the light coming from behind the glass. Used exactly the same set-up with one 580EX on each side pointed at the background, and immediately got excellent (for me) results.

Next step is to introduce more movement, like above ribbon winner, IreneM (congrats btw). The beauty of shooting still-life is that you can leave all your equipment in place between shoots.

The contrast on the edges of the broken pieces is superb. The whole light values are really good and with the nice touch of the liquid still in the glass.

Great colours, clear focus, and a cool composition. The redish liquid adds a nice colour element to it. How do you, people, get glass so beautiful sharp?

Technically well done but little bit to static and unnatural. Glass rarely break the way you presented it.

Good picture. I like the harsh lines made but the edges of broken glass. Nice simple colors really compliment each other.

I like the geometric shapes created by piling the broken pieces on top of one another. The backlight nicely separate the subject and dthe red liquid is just enough to add interest but not overpower the image. Great job. 10

Very nice execution. Good color. I'm not sure it fits the challenge description, because it seems a little staged.
