Greyledge Fallsby SJCarterComment: Missed this one... love the flow and the balance between light and dark. The greens of the moss are very realistic, (read>>> not overdone with the green slider ;) ) The whole scene is quite refreshing. |

Autumn's Winterby heathenComment: Nice shot. You could enter several of these each year. I for one dont get tired of this view. Contrast bump? sure. That would have probably have changed your "1" vote to at least a "3". ;) |

Autumnal Fern by SimmsComment: Very Good. I love the inclusion of more than one frond. At first glance the picture appears very busy, upon further review it becomes very ordered and balanced. Congrats. |

Sunrise Reflecting Cloudsby acoppolaComment: Hi from the Critique Club...
Please PM me with any comments or questions regarding critique as I would be glad to discuss. I will offer these comments both with the challenge in mind as well as general technical aspects.
Subject matter: The clouds are truly beautiful and the lighting on them makes the picture striking. I do feel it suffers a little bit without an additional contextual object(tree, ground, etc.) Challenge wise, the lack of a clear morning type setting(although i would agree that this looks like a mornign scene) hurts the score.
Techniclaly I couldn't offer much to improve on, your exposure controls the hightlights and still gives good detail accross the frame. I suppose a slightly faster shutter could have benefited you but 1/30 isn't too bad IMO, especially if you were able to brace yourself while shooting.
Colors are very pleasant with natural colors. The small darker clouds along the bottom do not add anything IMO so a tighter crop might have been nice. It is an easy picture to look at and like, but doesn't have a striking focal point to really catch the viewers interest.
Keep on shooting and enjoy what you shoot. Dont worry about the scores as they are secondary to your enjoyment.
Cheers,
Mark |

This Little Light Of Mineby SherwinJamesComment: Interesting shot i found while browsing. I like the light in the frame and think that a stronger composition could have been achieved by moving subject to the right, leaving the brightest part of the picture more off centered. This would have also given more separation between light source and subject. You know your stuff so not trying to criticize, JMHO. |
