Bunny Artby DrummieComment: *Critique Club*
"Bunny Art" is a nice entry into the Children's Toy challenge. I like the idea, having a child's toy creating something of the real world. This was a tough category with so many different toys out there to choose from.
I think your placement of the subject is good a lillte off center so that everything can be taken in. Unfortunately the lighting is a bit harsh. Possibly it was a flash used in a dark environemnet. You might try using a couple different lights and some reflectors. Even natural light migh balance out the piece a little more even though it usually creates a bunc of shadwos. Lighting is one of the hardest aspect of photography for myself. I also like how your focus is on the bunny not the pencils or the art piece.
I think you have the idea and creativity and looking at your portfolio you have some great work. Keep up the good work and I look forward to your future entries. |

JOY is Merry on Christmas!by 777STANComment: *Critique Club*
"JOY is Merry on Christmas!" is a nice candid in the Best of 2002 challenge.
Obviously you were capturing a true expression, which is always wonderful to see. The image itself is a little harsh. The image looks over processed because there are areas that are very pixeled, especially in her hair. There are also some weird white lines that come across in the shot, possibly from the lights reflection. Overall the shot seems out of focus, but I can understand that you were trying to capture the emotion. |

"Romeo" is a funny addition into the Best of 2002 challenge. I love fun shots, that is what I was really expecting from the 2002 challenge.
This piece itself is nice. I wish your husband was in focus but heck it is just a great shot. The lighting is interesting how it is just capturing him from the right hand side of the image. I like the border it makes the photograph feel more complete, also a nice addition since the windows are framed. Overall I think this was a fun photo and I am glad you entered it. I can obviously tell from your portfolio that your technical skills have greatly improve and your creativity is still present! |

Rays of Lightby RikkiComment: *Critique Club*
"Rays of Light" is an amazing entry into the Best of 2002 challenge. I am amazed looking at the differences between the original and entry, you did a great job. It seems so wrong to receive a 7+ and not ribbon, like others have said. .
This is an excellent piece, it is cropped just perfectly. The angle is very nice is creating the atmosphere. The rays of light are so fitting for the church environment. There is not much I can comment on because you did such excellent job. Congrats on the score and of course I look forward to all of your future entries. |

Capitol Springby OldGimmerComment: *Critique Club*
"Capitol Spring" is a nice photograph to have in the Best of 2002 challenge. It is interesting in your comments how you stated that this is one of your first digital pictures because it looks very nice.
I really like the perspective you took and created a foreground out of the trees. You were able to take an object that is often shot in many boring pictures and were able to approach it in a different way. The composition is lovely and feels nice and full. Very interesting choice on the frame, I really think frames are a hard thing to pull off. I would be curious to see the shot with a thinner solid black frame. The grey frame is a little too distracting for me.
Thanks for entering Capitol Spring, it was really nice it see a different perspective. I hope you continue to enter challenges.
Also I like the shadows that are cast from the trees. Message edited by HBunch - fixed a CC glitch. |
