Don't Drink and Driveby PaulMdxComment: well, I'm guessing the blurryness is supposed to simulate drunken vision, since otherwise this is way too soft/out of focus. The clean backdrop and subject placement work well enough, although I think I'd try pushing the subject a little more to the corner and going a little wider in order to work with the negative space a little more. This might work for an ad or something, but as a stand alone shot is doesn't really hold my attention much. Not a bad try though. |

A Christmas Surpriseby StevePaxComment: This needs better lighting. Also, it doesn't seem to be soft focus, moreso it seems to just be out of focus. Work on your setup and technical photography skills with this and it'll come out much better. (and probably get it down with a sharp focus before you mess with soft focus on it) |

After the Feastby kirbicComment: the finger sneaking in on the right side and the cutting off of just the top of her hair on top are elements that might be able to be improved. |

I love when your safety's onby wkmenComment: I'm not quite sure exactly what concept you were after here. The soft focus works pretty well with the low contrast. I guess the idea might have been using traditional means of a romantic or "beautiful" shot (i.e. the flowing white background) in contrast with the subject of a handgun, but all in all this shot leaves me cold. It's maybe a little too straightforward and consequently not especially interesing to me. Nicely executed though. 7 |

Early morning coloursby tp-fcpComment: I do like the idea here. Soft focus does a good job of bleeding bright lights and colors into other areas of a shot, and it was worth using that to your advantage. The colors are somewhat interesting but the shot is still lacking anything that really draws my attention, so my eyes just wander around the clutter mostly indead of feeling like there's something here drawing me in. A worthy effort though. Good luck. |

Temptationby KINGComment: This composition doesn't really work for me. The different elements don't really seem to fit together. Whatever story it is trying to tell (since there does seem to be one) just isn't getting through very well at all. Also, I don't think there was any reason for soft focus in this shot, as it doesn't seem to fit. |

J'adoreby KonadorComment: I'm not one to generally enjoy pet photos, but this is very well captured and uses soft focus wonderfully. Good choice of depth of field as well. |

Soft Spikesby robsmithComment: The colors and shapes here are intersting, and the soft focus does seem to add to the shot. Nice work. |

Dull afternoon at the Museum with four bored clones.by jjbeguinComment: The clones work out pretty well. The location is generally effective as well. That absurd circle of (oversaturated) color is nearly unforgivable though. It seems very gratuitious and without purpose. I like the tone and effect you had going outside of the circle, and I think leaving the entire shot like that would work much better. |
