mi amor, mi queridoby ursulaComment: 8 - Nice portrait with simplicity. Difficult to offer much feedback because it depends what you were trying to 'capture'. Tonings look good. |

Little Brother Big Sisterby front_elementComment: 8 - Very nice portrait. Tonings seem good. Difficult without knowing the characters of these individuals to comment on that aspect of this portraiture. Might just be the angle/lighting/etc but the 'brother' seems to have a slightly better 'depth' (hard to explain) than the 'sister'. Difficult, but a more finely tuned crop 'somewhere', may have refined this even more, in my opinion. |

A Girl and Her Catby alanfreedComment: 8 - Very good portrait and capture of both. Colors are nice, although wonder if a variant in the background may have given this something extra. A more finely tuned crop, especially at the top, may have also made this even better in my opinion. Some slight 'issues' on the girl's nose, but fairly minor. The cat really makes this. |

Showy squirrelby greslizzzComment: I gave this a 5. In my opinion, it is possible to capture an 'animal candid', but very difficult to do, basically (again, my opinion), if it is a 'moment captured' that has some natural and unaware nature to it (hard to explain), then it could be a candid. Not the same as a human candid, but a candid nevertheless. This is a good capture with a little pose, character and a 'just caught off guard'/became aware of your presence, type of moment. Colors are very good. Textures very good, as is the composition. It is partly the tail, but mostly the 'punk do' on top of the ears that really make this shot in my opinion - and why I took the liberty of adding it to my Favorites. |

Fair Weather Friendsby XileboComment: I gave this a 5. I know this plant (or at least a few varieties of it) and whilst you've captured it quite well, the freesias(?) dominated in this shot, in my opinion. There were a few 'blown' areas on the freesias as well. Most importantly for this Challenge, the texture(s) were not captured to their full potential - again, my opinion. Difficult with the 'composition' and angle you have here, but perhaps just focussing in on the 'ice plant' and the unusual textures of that, plus the boost with the colors, may have made this even better in my opinion. edit:removed 'TN', also, left a comment on your other shot of this plant.Message edited by author 2006-04-19 06:45:12. |

Given to fly by LalliSigComment: 9 - Excellent shot. Colors and tonings (effects?) work very well here. Lighting makes the drama too. Perhaps the only thing would be bottom left darker area and the slightly blown(?)/something/loss of detail in areas on the face, but difficult. Like the rotate/angle. Power lines definitely add in this shot, in my opinion. |

Without Gravityby arnitComment: 8 - Very good. Balance/symmetry very good. Difficult shot, likely lens/camera dependent etc, but 'if only' even more 'stop motion' and clarity ... but difficult, and no idea how (just know I've seen some amazing shots of gymnasts). Tweaking of the colors, especially to try to alter the background to 'lift' this even more, may have also given this a bit more 'pop'. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say here: a very difficult to shot to 'nail'. |

Red Earthby whiteroomComment: 8 - Good capture. Processing/toning works well here in my opinion. Difficult, but perhaps a fraction more 'lightness' (for more 'pop') and a more finely tuned crop, especially at the top, may have made this even better in my opinion. |

Learn to flyby LevTComment: 8 - Good perspective and composition. Not much to be done about it, but the harness 'seat' just 'removes' a certain sense of 'daring' - if that makes sense. A slight tweaking of the colors may have given this a little more 'pop' and a little extra in my opinion - although likely difficult with the blues together. |
