Very nice. Having a person in the image gives it so much more character. What he's actually doing is lost in the motion blur, but that helps to focus the viewer to think about it.

Nice setup and colouring. A bit of film-grain or noise would actually help this image. I know you can't do it in basic editing, but you should make another edit for your portfolio with a slight grungy texture overlay to give it some real old-photo character.

Somehow, he looks too happy. Cowboys are supposed to be tired, sore and dusty. :) But a nice portrait. A wider aperture giving a bit of background blur would improve the seperation of subject from background.

Nice subtle colours. A little more contrast would help define the image better.

Aha, finally. Nice colours, great compositional lines. My only gripe is the blown out lamps, but that would take exposure bracketing to fix, and you can't do that in basic.

Nice colours, and great character. I'm not sure whether the full sun is the best lighting here, but you probably didn't have much say in that. A sunset shot of this same location might be really cool too. Well done.

Nice bright shot, although a little too oversharpened, and looks like jpg compression artifacts.

With the addition of a spotlight on the letter and quill, this would be a great shot.

This is just calling out for some dual-exposure HDR! Nice rustic scene, but the noisy photo lets it down.
