Congratulations on your top ten..This was in my top three out of the entire challenge.

I think you can still live free and be married.. free spirit.. free mind.. free choice... and this man looks like he embraces freedom often. The ocean going off behind him is all about freedom.

You absolutely nailed the subject there is no doubt in my mind about the environment or this beautiful portrait :)

I really like this picture and this is why:

Its not everyday people try as hard to look good or put as much effort into looks as they do on their wedding day. The location you picked (yes I know where that is ;) ) is elegant.. much like the couple. The arches to the b&w tiled floor.. the stone pillar all work together beautifully to take you back to a time when elegance was important and what better day than on your wedding day. The lines on her dress run perfectly with the tiles on the pillars in the background as well.. there is symmetry and it all works together with such charm.

Kudos to you for finding a location that befits the day. I think more fotogs need to keep location in mind when shooting.. I know seeing shots like this serve well in teaching me its the whole not just the sums of an image that make them magical.

**edit to add** and the bride is beautiful.. dynamic smile...they make a great couple.
