Even though the focus is on the lily pads and flowers, one of the things I like about this photo is the water behind the group of flowers, as it gives a nice separation from the lilies and the bank in the background. That may sound odd, but I think it adds to the composition and sets off the lily pads favorably.

Bluestone Passion

This is my favorite of the three images you have posted as "bluestone" work. The one in the middle is my least favorite of the three. I think I like the deeper colors better than the more pastel tones, which accounts for my liking this one best. I've been interested in floral shots (including agave plants) for some time and post them on my website from time to time. Your work has been inspirational in this regard (I entered one in the macro puzzle challenge and managed to place 25). I'll keep trying (and watching what you do) so I can improve my technique.
