Guardian of The Realmby GiorgioComment: *Critique Club*
When I first saw this it reminded me of "The Nightmare Before Christmas" movie for some reason. The match resembles the tree drawings used in the film for me. I think that this is an excellent photo. You have a very creative imagination. The detail on the burnt match is great. This is a great example of SDOF. Congrats on a great score.

A Mother Remembersby KivetComment: Looks a little overdone with neat image. Would have rec a 10 from me if the picture was in focus and not so blotchy because the composition and overall set up of the shot is wonderful. Did you notice that her ring is turned? |

Great-grandmotherby gsalComment: Love the grain and the desaturation, it really adds to the image. I wish she didn't look like she was in the middle of saying something. I really like everything in the photo except the Christmas lights in the window. I like how you kept the color in the painting...nice touch. |

Feeding The Youngby PoobaComment: This is a great moment and I am sure it was not easy to get. Your photo lacks focus which will probably hurt your results in this challenge. |

Mother Nature's "ray of lights"by tjmuellerComment: Very nice, soft peaceful photo. Looks like a great place to go fishing! The green canoe really adds to the image and introduces a great color other than brown to the image without taking over the overall look and theme. |

"Of course I'll wear it tonight, sweetheart!"by rachelellenComment: I really like this idea. I am sure that the reason you cropped the picture this way is to draw attention to the necklace. I would rather have seen the whole face as well. It would have been nice to see the full facial expression on the mother. Her simple smile and a loving look in her eyes would have really added to the overall message you trying to get across to the viewer. |

My Momby ZoomdakComment: I really like the composition of this photo. You have cropped it very well. The one thing that bothers me is that on the hill and your mother the contrast is very high and the exposure is dark, and for the ocean and rocks, the contrast is very low. Maybe this was on purpose to draw more focus to the lower right hand corner of the image? Either way, there is something very peaceful about this picture. Great job. |

The Sea Is The Mother Of Us Allby Bear_MusicComment: The contrast is a little too strong for a seascape photo, IMO. I feel that your composition lacks interest. It just seems that there needs to be something to look at besides water and blue sky with no clouds. |

Pondering the Mysteries of the Remoteby drydocComment: I love this! I hope that everyone gets this photo. My grandmother, when she was alive, had the hardest time with any new technical device. The VCR, microwave....well, just anything that had buttons. No matter how many times you explained it, she would just not get it. She would just say, "remotes are for the lazy people, if I want to turn the channel I will get up and do it myself!" |

Mama Afrikaby SinkyComment: Very cool sculpture! I really like it. The colors are great. I wish that the darkened areas around the image where smoother. |
