 small lake behind my house, came home and the sun was setting hitting the lake in a way that created this mistical haze.

Croped, sharpend, neat image added frame and saved for web.

Though I find this interesting, it seems a bit drab. I would really like to be able to see more clearly defined rays of light, and maybe a bit of levels to bring the darker areas up a bit for a little more contrast.

I like the concept that you have captured. The overall focus is rather too soft for my tastes and the colours are rather grayed, probably a factor of the lighting and conditions.

The light is really fantastic in your photo. It glows. Beautiful colors, too. For me, the border color is too muddy - would be interested to see how an all black border (or none) looks.To continue with my input - but please take this with a grain of salt. It may have been nearly impossible to get rid of the canoe, but it makes the image seem cluttered. My eye wants to rest on the awesome trees to the right and their reflections. On the other hand, maybe you intended for the canoe to be the subject, in which case the trees clutter the canoe. Hope you get what I mean - this is a nice image.

Excellent photo... if not for the connection of the title, it would be difficult to see a tie in to this challenge.

The composition needs a little work. The subject matter could have been better. The image quality is a little below average. Could have been a little more creative. = 3

Very nice, soft peaceful photo. Looks like a great place to go fishing! The green canoe really adds to the image and introduces a great color other than brown to the image without taking over the overall look and theme.

I'll give you the mother nature connection, but the picture doesn't leave much for me to look at. Could you have recomposed so the canoe wasn't there?

this wold have been really pretty if it was for the green thing in the trees... I assume it's a boat. maybe it culd have been avoided by changing the angle?
