Cathedral of Colourby MatthewComment: I knew it would do well - the colours are so good and it is well shot despite not getting a second chance!
Deserves its place or higher! Well done Matthew. |

Asha 2by SJCarterComment: I aagree this one is better. The background is less distracting. The elephant itself is sharp and the texture is great. Shame you didn't tell him to keep his trunk still when he posed!

Balanced Eggby strangeghostComment: Great lighting and composition. I like the slight colour in this while it is almost b/w. The line of the shadows fan out really well. I am not sure this is a "love it on my wall" pic so don't know how well it does for prints - mind you great for stock photo for restaurant or cafe!
Would be interested to know how you lit this one. |

200-inch Hale Telescope Domeby strangeghostComment: great image and atmospheric in b/w. IMO ( and a very amateur opinion) the light on the dome detracts. Was this the sun on it in colour? Love the angle and the curve of the shadow. Woukd have been a great contrast entry!

s-2-BW.jpgby orussellComment: Great atmosphere although I would like to see a version with a bit more contrast. Very sharp. Did you try an angle slightly to the left to avoid the bush right in front of the boat? I've tried to look at it with a different crop but I think you got it absolutely right. Well done! |

Butterfly Orgyby SJCarterComment: This is a lovely capture but it is a little too busyIMO! The main butterflies get a bit lost in the fern and it is quite hard to split them into individual creatures. Very sharp centre and the browns and greens are v. strong. I probably would have cropped it tighter or tried from a lower angle.
Just scrolled down and seen you had quite a few comments on this! Sorry I haven't come up with anything new! |

boys2.jpgby garlicComment: Not sure! I don't find them attractive but then that is probably not the point. I wouldn't have them on the wall. Not sure a baby suits this style. Right, now the style I like and with the right subject and a tad darker colour this could be very effective. Backgrounds should be the same and subject perhaps a little sharper. My opinion although I am very far from an expert so I hope you don't mind my imput! |

sasha_1846.jpgby LKMoteComment: Great detail on the face and the new lens is obviously doing the job! I would have cropped it tighter on the dog's face to avoid the rather distracting amount of dog's back and grass. This might have also taken the head out of dead centre. Although the muzzle and face are sharp, her ears and the top of her head are just out of focus so an even tighter crop may have worked. I am no expert (by a long way), but hope this is useful.

The Lookby RikkiComment: A lovely pic and well captured. On my monitor, which usually is very bright, the face detail is lost on the left and the whiskers seem blown out on the right. The red collar and the blue eyes are great contrasts, a pity the edge of somehting shows in bottom left hand corner. Detail on tips of ears very good. Very photogenic cat so look forward to seeing more of her.
