Very interesting subject choice, but the image doesn't really project failure. I can see that this is obviously a poor man, but I get a feeling that he is good at something, thus not a complete failure. Well seen, and I like the selective desaturation that you produced.

It's hard to tell what this one is. I think it would do great in an abstract challenge, but it isn't readily obvious what the failure was. Nice composition, crisp focus and great complementary colors. Well seen and well captured, but more suited for a different challenge.

I like the idea and the mood that this image projects, but I am not putting the various elements together very well. I understand the rifle and the feeling of dejection, but I am missing the point of the paint and hammer. Nice image and good mood for the challenge. I can't wait to read your photographer's comments for the rest of the story.

Cool capture and interesting concept, but that little, blurry weed in the front overpowers the subject. I think I would have failed it first, then taken the shot.

It looks like you may have a great photograph here, but the size is too small to tell for sure. Always try to use the full size parameter that DPC allows. Smaller images lose important detail and tend to do poorly. I'd really like to see this one in a larger size after the voting is finished.

This is a bit too busy with too many distractions. I do get a sense of failure, but the vegetation on either side of the frame is distracting and competes for attention with the subject.
