This guy strums quietly on St. Martin's Lane in London. He's a lovely bloke and I hate to suggest he's a failure, though I guess sometimes he wonders what might have been.

Increased white balance and contrast in Raw Shooter Hue/Saturation and a warm photo filter in Photoshop

Basic Editing prevents me from removing the blue tint on the top of his guitar!

This is an incredibly moving real-life portrait. The selective desat really works here, because it has a point. Into faves!

Just perused your portfolio after seeing "London is Burning" and this one truly moved me.

What a terrific capture of poignancy and grit.

You have a rare talent, sir!

Greetings from the Critique Club

Not too much to critique, here. This is an excellent image. It meets the challenge, and the overall mood is conveyed nicely.

It's perhaps not as sharp as it could be, but for a shot like this, I don't think it's important to be tack sharp. The selective desaturation is well done and the the voters clearly liked it.

Very well done.

Excellent finish. This is a terrific photo and the "blues" rings true twice in this photo - not only with his music, but his jacket.

I gave this an 8. It would have been a 10 but I really don't like selective desaturation.

Great subject, composition, lighting and tones. Get rid of the horrible blue and this (in my opinion) would be a fabulous picture.

Very clear, the tone adds to the rustic look of this photo. This would make a nice poster.

I like the mood that this image captues. At first I was wondering if it met the rules for editing for the challenge, then I noticed that the image had been validated. Very nice work.

A life's story in one picture, nice.
I don't understand though why you left the blue color on the picture. Why only the blue?

Very interesting subject choice, but the image doesn't really project failure. I can see that this is obviously a poor man, but I get a feeling that he is good at something, thus not a complete failure. Well seen, and I like the selective desaturation that you produced.

I really like the concept here. A failed musician. It sucks that you can't spot check because if you could eliminate blue from everything else except his jacket, this photo would have been exceptional.
