Contrary to where this finished and some comments, this is a very good shot and its great to see someone stretch and climb out of the box. If you don't experiment you'll rapidly fall into the same rut as many others do around here. Great work and keep it up. Try a similar shot the next time there is a B&W challenge and you'll hear nothing but praises!!

Ouch!! I expected this shot to be much much higher in the finals. Too many people fly by hitting the 5 and not actually stopping to study the image. Good luck on your next entries, you are showing some exceptional potential.

Good contrast and lighting. Background works perfectly. The only little picky picky thing I would have changed are the leaves. I think the stems tend to draw your eyes away from the centre focus, and lead you off the page in different directions.

Now this is a great photo. It really tweks a persons imagination. The decaying boards in background add an extra nice touch to this shot. Lighting is as close to perfect as you can get. Extremely well done. Deserves a ribbon finish.

WoW! Another orange sky. Personally I tired of them after the third photo, but thats just me. Everyone else seems to think they're great so keep them coming!! I did like the reflective light on the branches. That part works very well. Good luck!!
