I absolutely love this - the juxtaposition (sorry, I know that's a pretentious word but I can't think of any other way of saying it) between the texture of the weathered hand and the irridescent sheen and colours of the beetle is fabulous! Composition, crop and background spot on too! Love it! 10!

I really love this! It's incredibly calming and yet exciting because it's kind of exotic. I bet you're dying to spot edit the wee white pixel out but I appreciate you can't do that within basic editing rules and it's not a big deal. 10!

A beautiful portrait, perfect composition and lovely cropping but just doesn't seem well suited to this challenge in my opinion.

Would score higher if there weren't such offputting halos around the outline of the foreground unicorn face - I'm guessing this is due to severe oversharpening. Otherwise, nice composition, interesting bokeh, nice shallow DOF.

Just wanted to let you know that this was one of my 9s during voting, but I didn't have time to leave a comment. What a skill to suggest such romance and intimacy using nothing more than two forks and a piece of muslin! I really like the softness you have achieved here too. Just beautiful!

One of my 9s, this is a fabulous picture. I really love the composition, the low perspective, the use of the sculpture to frame the mountain behind and oh! that golden light that falls upon it! So wonderful a focal point amidst the dark shapes of the foreground and the blues and whites of the sky. Really beautifully done!

Just wanted to let you know that this is one of only two 10s that I gave in the challenge. It's an absolutely beautiful image and I just love the way you have used light, shadow and colour to create such a wonderful abstract piece of art. The texture of the metal prongs against the soft blurred colours is just fabulous. Thank you for sharing this with us!

One of my two 10s in this challenge; apologies for not commenting during the voting period. Wonderful immediacy and vibrancy to the image, all the more surprising given the toned black and white treatment (which I really like, btw). The eye contact is electrifying! Great grittiness and texture too. A real work of art.

Didn't have time to comment during voting but thought I'd pop back and let you know that this was one of my top entries - I gave it a 9. I really like the contrast between the fine and precise detail of the foreground object and the loose, more abstract nature of the background. The DOF works well to blur that background and exaggerate that difference. I like too the way that the background splits between dark and light. Black and white works really well too.

I am so surprised at how poorly this entry did given that it was one of my very favourites. I gave it a 9, and I'm sorry I didn't have time to comment on it during the voting period.

It's a lovely study of an everyday chore (the dreaded washing up) made into art. I think you've achieved a lovely composition with the spoon handle positioned just so and some great framing using the shadow of the sides of the sink. I really like the black and white high contrast presentation. I like the grittiness of the textures.

I am sorry this didn't score higher and I hope you appreciate that, for a number of us, this is a wonderful image.
