Bardoby 2mccsComment: You must be a Zen Bardist then. It's convincing, wavering between states of comprehension as well as between states of being. I haven't had this dream myself yet, but when I do I expect it will look like this. Top five for me. Thank you. |

Sirenum scopuliby 2mccsComment: Cream's "Tales of Brave Ulysses" is one of their best, and this of course takes me there. So big points for that.
More importantly, it's an image that really does imply sound in a visual way; there is a distinct sense of tonal vibration and of the visible formation of a penetrating note or a chord. It might even be the opening bar or two of " Brave Ulysses" now that I look at it more closely. And most of all, it's just so interesting and absorbing to look at (amazing how many people completely forget that part!)
Thanks for a thoughtful and stimulating photograph. This is my top pick. |

Nor'easter Howlingby mainerComment: Simple and startlingly effective. Probably more in the true spirit of the challenge than any other entry. Normally I don't care much at all about whether an image 'meets the challenge" ... how can I really know that? But this time you have left me in no doubt; it's wonderfully sensory, which was surely the whole point (rather than vapid pictures of people merely presumed to be making a noise). Top two for me. |

wind chimesby skewsmeComment: The shapes do somehow mimic the characteristic sound of wind chimes; they have a sort of muffled clarity, if you get what I mean. And of course you do, otherwise we would not be having this conversation about your excellent insight. Top three for me. Well done & thank you. |

her selfby bspurgeonComment: Achingly lovely. The voluptuous female torso curve drawn with just the shadow of a quite different body part is beautiful. A lesson in comprehension, vision and restraint. If only you could pass them around. My top pick. |

deltaby whiteroomComment: Ambitious, deftly realised, and ultimately the most absorbing image in the challenge. Top two from me. |

Blending Inby InsomniacComment: Something weirdly classical about this. Maybe it's just the rock versus body form thing, itself a classical idea. Anyway, it's among my most interesting. Thank you. |

Sydney Harbour Bridge in rainby daisydavidComment: Nice, John. I hardly ever saw a picture of The Hanger that I didn't like, and this one is a particular pleasure as I am a long way from it these days. But I remember this exact view so well. I once made an insane U-turn on this bridge in weather like this, across the concrete median strip, right into the arms of a waiting copper. Bastard had no sense of humour at all! Thanks for the memories. |
