I love this image of the Bridge. The rain has done wondrous things to it.
While we're talking about bridge stories, my father drove the wrong way over it with a caravan in tow once. Fortunately it was very early in the morning and the only other traffic we saw was a milkie - I think with a horse and cart. I was only about 12 at the time and it's entirely possible my memory has embellished the tale. Check my signature! |

Nice, John. I hardly ever saw a picture of The Hanger that I didn't like, and this one is a particular pleasure as I am a long way from it these days. But I remember this exact view so well. I once made an insane U-turn on this bridge in weather like this, across the concrete median strip, right into the arms of a waiting copper. Bastard had no sense of humour at all! Thanks for the memories. |
