The Joy of Housework by njsabsComment: Congrats on your blue, Jennifer! I had a similar concept in my head for my old "Bored" shot, but could not pull it off, at least score-wise :). Merry Christmas! |

DSC_0628dp.jpgby IraklisComment: because of this vertical stick, it works almost like a diptych :). I also like the echo between the colorful necklaces and her handbag. Message edited by author 2009-12-24 13:11:18. |

eunuch-isms by UrfaKComment: very interesting scene, and I understand that you wanted to call our attention to these "drag queens of the East," but I honestly don't think selective desat was the right decision (it very rarely is, IMO). The whole scene becomes fake, and the background becomes a theatre stage set of sorts. I think you should have left it in color and trust the viewer to find out what the scene is about. Let your subjects be immersed in the street life, don't yank them out! Or, if you really want them to stand out, make the rest of the scene slightly less saturated, but only barely so. Of course this is only my opinion, you should do what you like :). |

_MG_9392.jpgby mpetersComment: so elegant! :) The left side of the portrait is great (I like the glare), I think the right half is a tad too light - I would make it darker somewhat to balance with the other half.

The Overcoat.by rooumComment: have you heard about Nikolai Gogol's famous story "Overcoat"? [Dostoevsky, another great Russian writer, once remarked that "we all came from Gogol's Overcoat"]. This is just an image to go with that story. |
