DPC orange salt lake.jpgby Penny LaneComment: Is this color effect from using a filter or is from post-processing? Just curious. You've picked a good image to apply this effect to, I could see other hues used as well (blue, sepia), even B/W might work.
Good eye to see this shot and a nice POV you've used to compose it. |

DPC mushrooms 3.jpgby Penny LaneComment: This image has some interesting lines. It's almost like the image is two parts with a cool background being made up of the green moss and the (wonderfully blurred by DOF) grey rock (it is a rock isn't it?) consisting of the "canvas", and then part 2 is the mushrooms. The mushrooms feel 3D-ish because they jump off of the "canvas".
Funny, I've NEVER used the word canvas to describe an image at DPC, and I'm coming up on 2 years now. Just feels right for this image. ;^)
Smile and keep having fun!!! |

Hanging outby aKiwiComment: Nice job of working a nude into this challenge.
Rope is the theme for this challenge and in your image it's an afterthought, not really subject matter at all.
I'm sure you'll garner a high number of views with this, so in part you'll have succeeded in using nudity to sell your image. |

Tension by h2Comment: Looks like a stock photo. That's not a bad thing. I could see this being used for subject matter as you've titled it 'Tension' or 'Stress', 'Breaking Point', etc... Good detail, nice choice of tonal color. Clean, simple background. Should do well with this. Good luck! |

Boat on a Ropeby redmoonComment: I really like shallow DOF shots like this. You've put the focus where it counts and it's nice and sharp. The ground level view is what puts it all together from the viewing perspective. Adds interest and a unique POV. Nicely done! |

Captiveby kawesttexComment: Hope kitty rec'd a nice treat after this. ;^) I like the position you had when taking this shot with the camera being level with the rope on the floor. The color contrast (rope vs cat) works quite well here. You'll probaly here some remarks about the cat looking the wrong way (out of the frame), but I think it adds a little bit of mystery to the shot.
Anyway, best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Rope for Clawsby robinssongComment: I like the image, however, I'm torn because the rope seems secondary in this image and rope is supposed to be the primary subject for the challenge. Lovely cat! ;^) |

s a v i n g - f r o m - t h e - t i d e s . . . by vikasComment: Very nice use of DOF to make the background look like a painting. You've kept the rope as the primary subject, which is good considering the challenge theme. My top pick...hope it does well for you. Good luck. |
