Twilightby SJCarterComment: Hey! Where have you been hanging out recently? Just noticed all of your beach shots in the recently uploaded area. :D
This shot has wonderful lines and the tonal range is great. The reflections of light on the water is cool, and the starburst on the light posts is an added bonus! Nicely done Jimmy. |

Empty Netby neophyteComment: Is that a boundary line (chalk) in the foreground? This is a tough call. As it is I think the photo is underexposed substantially, especially the foreground. Probably has to do with metering and the sky you were working with. Then again, if it was exposed properly it would be quite a bit busier with the buildings and other distractions in the background. Hmmm. The driving force behind your decision was probably the cool looking clouds, yes? This makes another angle or POV hard to do. May have been better off exposing a little closer for the shadows and then using curves/levels to bring the sky back some. Maybe a Gradient ND filter? Like I said, a tough call. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Seat Patternby gg3rdComment: Hey. This is cool. Simple, yet effective - at least for an abstract anyway. :D Should do fine with this. Good luck! |

Reckless Abandonby paulb_17Comment: Pretty sky, although I'm not sure why this is B/W as I'd imagine it's spectactular in color. As for the challenge...how is this connected to the theme? What/where is the game/sport? Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, but you do usually only get a second or two from most voters to make your impression. Good luck. |

Hole in the Cornerby ZoomdakComment: I like how the light is showing the details of the net. Pretty decent job of working around the sun spot there. Good luck in the challenge. |

Basketball Game's Over - Go On Homeby crewmndComment: Have seen a few with this theme in the challenge so far. Yours is better than some, not quite as sharp as one other. In this case I think it's the lighting and overall composition. Sorry for the comparison. Don't usually do that... The light source is creating some glare from the lock which is distracting (lock/chain is the main subject here). Perhaps the composition could be a little tighter? All JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge. |

After the checkmate...by tlenatComment: That's a unique chessboard. I have never seen one with pieces like that before. Cool. I think you would have gotten better impact with the focal point being placed deeper into the board. As it is you're losing sharpness at the subject point (knocked over King). Window lighting is a bit harsh also. Obviously not a studio setup. Not sure what the best fix for the lighting is without some reflector - maybe fillflash set to low power (if camera supports it)? Anyway, best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Blue Shoesby loveComment: Looks like some practice area for warmup prior to the game. Trying to figure out what sport and WHAT those straps are for. Almost look like ball keepers. Hmmm. Hopefully you'll let the viewers know in the photographers comment section visible after the challenge? :D Good luck. |

Echoes of Gloryby BeeCeeComment: The most interesting aspect of this image (for me) is trying to determine what sport it represents. Not recognizing the layout of the field. Funny how the qualtity of light makes the green appear to shift in color as you look across the field. BTW, somebody needs to take the bottle away from that line painter! :D Good luck in the challenge. |
