Tropical Gothicby GermaineComment: Hi! You've got the bones of a great shot here. Unfortunately, the light sources appears to be blown out. I'd offer advice, but it happens to me all the time as well. :) I understand a larger f# will help on that. Regrettably, one of the palm fronds obscures the top of the architecture, a small adjustment in photographer position might have helped with that. Overall, a very nice shot. Good luck in the challenge! |

The Drummer Boy of Shilohby EricMGB1974Comment: Great expression and pose on the boy. I'm not sure about having the flag leak through, although I see that's the point in order to meet the challenge. I just don't favor the the lines on his face, sorry. DOF choices seem solid, colors are rather muted but I'll assume that was to support the somber mood. Overall, I think this image will evoke emotion in other viewers, which makes it successful. Although I think I'd have rather seen a shot of the boy drumming with the motion blur in the drumsticks, I can't fault this particular shot for much and so I'm going to give it a good score anyway. :) Best of luck in the challenge! |

Rush Hour Fadingby ericwooComment: Light trails, one of my favorite kinds of night shots! You've got some perspective skew in the buildings, I might have either corrected or exaggerated that. Composition is strong with the light trails leading into the frame. Overall, a great shot! |

As Time Goes Byby GeneralEComment: Hi! Well done on exposing the clock. With this being an advanced editing challenge, I might have cleaned up what appears to be either a reflection gone awry or some other kind of light noise on the right side of the frame and also balanced the vignette effect in the upper left corner of the frame. It's otherwise a pretty crisp and clean shot. One more nitpicky thing, in general when clocks are advertised for sale etc. the time shown on the face is 10:10, to mimic a smile in the subconscious of the viewer. With regard to composition, I think it would have helped here to have the time set at 10:10 and the second hand skimming at the 30th second. Overall, it's a good shot to meet the challenge. Good luck! |
