Canada creates frozen clone army...plans to take over the world!by DrAchooComment: I love it. Guy looks at his son, and thinks "Hey! Have I got a project for you... Wanna look dead?"
By the way, rumors about Canadians taking over the world are totally untrue.
We already have the largest country in the world. If we wanted to do something realy devious, we would just do something to make our winters less cold like oh, I don't know, maybe warm up the whole globe or something?
And it's not like THAT's going to happen RIGHT? |

Men In Black Agent by Joey LawrenceComment: heh. Congratz again mr Joey.
I wonder after reading all of the comments if anyone else noticed the face in the fog. Kind of amazing. Fog is really hard to control. I should know. I've never done it. |

Zen Masterby dsa157Comment: Hey! Didn't have time to vote on this challenge, but I'd still like to say GREAT picture. Nice idea. The boy has great eyes and great expression.
FWIW, Zen masters typically use their chopsticks closer to the other end as a demonstration of control, but your technique isn't bad :).
There is actually a whole set of superstitions about where you hold the chopsticks comfortably. They are pretty typically nonsense, but one says that the closer you hold to the end, the older you will be when you marry! |

Obsessionby sacredspiritComment: I think I got it.
Is it the view from the Phantom of the Opera on a Rose that he wishes he could give to Christine? Obsession. Gotcha.
WOO. Do I get a Prize if that's it?
Speech? Uhm, I'd like to thank the Academy and oh, yeah, Sherri1209 for helping a bit with the concept.
You got your focal point right. The rose looks crisp. I wonder if you could have had more view of the subject though. This would likely have involved moving closer to the mask. Looks to me like that would have made it more difficult to get as much of the mask in and have people recognize the mask, but perhaps it would be worth it for more of the rose? |

Rays of Loveby SDWComment: Wow. Seriously spectacular.
I remember you mentioning that you might have to go away for a bit due to some personal life difficulties. This is a heck of a picture to take a sabbatical on.
Shoot as much as possible, you have great skill. |

Thought Overgrowthby cycomerlin14Comment: Just thought I would post a slightly further thought.
You will notice that the hair is all slightly uniform in its dispersion. This is not a strong call to the word branch. When was the last time you saw a tree like that. Typically, trolls hair is very easy to bunch and gather into individual tufts.
If you had done that, you may have caught the theme a little more closely and merited some more positive votes. |

At the End of the Branch - One Perfect Roseby TuckersmomComment: I saw this pic on the page just as I had to go to work and stop voting. I wish I had taken the time to give it just one more 9 or 10.
This picture is REALLY gorgeous.
I totally disagree with all the people who can't read titles or think for more than a few seconds to get the connection with branch. The main subject of the picture is definitely related to a branch. The title brings it together.
I definitely think there could be just a hair more contrast and I think there is a bit of noise or something on the right. Maybe it's just my LCD screen, but the pic looks better as I drop the brightnest and increase the contrast.
I think it is noteworthy that you got more tens than you got nines and you only got 10 less 10's than the winning photo.
Please keep works like this coming. |

No Worries in a Worldby sacredspiritComment: Another picture that I felt was excellent and should have been in the top 10, but got bad votes because people just couldn't see what was in front of them.
I am sad that people felt that the first thing they saw was the kid so they couldn't make the connection. Apparently a number of people can't read titles.
Sorry this didn't get higher. It's a super pic. |

When the Tree is Deadby jseyerleComment: Dude, sorry you were robbed. I thought this one would top ten for sure. Don't know why so many people voted it down honestly. Some people mentioned that they couldn't see the branch connection.
The fact that there is a boat made of wood in several different styles is one clue, but I would have figured most people would have caught the branch in the guy's hand.
Helluva nice pic and I'll restate that. |

Salute to the skyby naomikComment: This is a tree, not a branch. I am not taking much from it. The pic is a tad overexposed (the branches disappear in the light). It might have worked a bit better if you had underexposed a little and brought it up later. Even better would have been closer where you would have been able to focus on the branch aspect. |
