midwinter's dreamby ErinMComment: Ahhh, lovely. As the viewer of the scene, I am safe inside where it is warm and a fire burns, see how I fogged up the jack frost window with my breath and wiped away a bit? This is exactly what winter feels like. |

Pensiveby cryingdragonComment: What if you straddled the chair and leaned on the back instead of sideways? Although the line of your arm and the line of the seam of the shirt make a nice composition, you look uncomfortable. |

Night Lightsby pixelpigComment: You were driving home in a storm and caught a man in the act of transforing into a werewolf? Wow! Or was it the devil, evaprating into smoke. You didn't sign any contract, did you? We will know if you suddenly become very famous. |

Late Night Loveby QuasimojoComment: A commenter called this a "candid" but it is a carefully composed and executed photo, almost text book. The triangle of lights, the leading lines which lead into a spot of light draw the viewer in to look more closely at the image, a lovely balance of black and white, vignetting on the edges to make the scene more intense, the couple, place in the rule of thirds point of interest are out of focus perhaps suggesting the movement of a couple through space and time as they make a life together, the road symbolizing the pathway of like leads to a bright spot of hope. The repeating streetlights reminding if mini suns saying that day will follow day will follow day, adding a fourth dimension of time to the photo. Theres a LOT more in this photo than a "candid". Look again voters.
PS - I don't enter many challenges, that doesnt make me a troll voter, I don't take great photos but I DO like to look at great photos. |

Looking down the Great Wallby ordinaryangelComment: Wow - this photo is all about scale - visual immensity. those mountains are HUGE, that wall is huge - the way it all fades off into white in the distance emphasizes the vastness of the china landscape. I especially like that fade out from color to mist but in focus all the way to the edge of the world. Imagine how tiny a human is, pretty insignificant. |

Lunch timeby jan_vdwComment: Great movement in the shot. I like the fish proceding west while the skate makes a dramatic arch, grabs his dinner and swoops away. To add interest, your panning has the faster moving (to my imagination) skate in sharp focus and the slower fish with motion blur. Excellent! Wonderful watery colors too. |

Gray Connemarasby PhotonurdComment: They look like two swans, necks arched to make a heart. Send it to everyone you know on valentines day! The white is beautiful, the negative space shapes are strong. I like how the sharper likes of the bridles make contrasting designs of their own - great composition! |

Quietby HaneckComment: Ha - the horse split in half - the dark sillouette on the right and the light rear end on the left. Clever composition. He looks at his back half in confusion as if wondering "How did it get over there?" Wonderful lighting. |
