Where were YOU?by christyrackComment: the curtains and the light are lovely - maybe you could crop out the front edge of the table to emphasize them - we don't need the whole desk and the whole paper, it makes the composition too straight on. The main elements are the pencil trough in the desk, the headline and the lace. |

No buttonsby NusbaumComment: You know, twice in the past week, kids I know have gotten seriously stranded because they don't know how to use a pay phone. I love this image (maybe I'd like it better if it were straighter?). 7 |

Dreams and Memoriesby amsmythComment: Several things wrong here - First, you could rotate it so the guys stand upright, my pet peeve is tilted images. next, there is too much going on, there isn't a good central focal point. Where are you trying to direct my eyes? you have a lot (too many) leading lines, they are all vertical and they all lead right out of the picture. For the viewer, as soon as his eyes are led out of the picture frame, the brain says "Done with this one, next". The lighting is harsh causing too much glare and the colors are bright and washed out at the same time. It is a hard image to look at and not very visually pleasing. The way it is cropped makes me wonder about the poor little guys at the bottom and the bigger ones up top. Amany of the Nutcrakers are looking out of the frame instead of in, another thing that leads the viewers eyes out following the gaze of the crackers. Better luck next time. |
