Great subject. I think you should try to even out the lighting. It seems a bit harsh. Perhaps you could some way to get more diffuse lighting. Bouncing the light or getting an attachment for your flash. That is easier said than done though.

Street Kid in Sydney

I don't think your post processing supports the picture. I'm guessing but it looks like you used too much noise reduction.

Also, the street kid is barely in the photo. The beautiful view is overwhelmingly nice, but it doesn't add to an impoverished feel. Although it is a sad situation I think it could have been captured better without worrying so much about the scenery.

I never knew how concave their heads are. His neck just goes right up in there. It isn't the most beautiful view of a dragonfly. You have quite a bit of noise and the lighting seems a little harsh, but it is good if you want to see how all its parts fit together.
