i've only been seeing dragonflies in the last week since they've been 'away' during winter and colder months .. this is the first one i've photographed ..
this orientation probably wont be that appealing to most ppl .. as tho looking into his insides .. i like that i can see the way his head is attached to his body .. incredible stuff ..
he was perched on a branch and flew off shortly after i took this shot ..
sharper and better viewed full sized

I love how you've captured that family of micro-organisms on the tip of one of the hairs on his body (to the left of those negatively charged protons that are clearly visible near his wing). :P

In other words - incredible close detail! :-)

I never knew how concave their heads are. His neck just goes right up in there. It isn't the most beautiful view of a dragonfly. You have quite a bit of noise and the lighting seems a little harsh, but it is good if you want to see how all its parts fit together.
