Self Portraitby ShugPugComment: Kudos on getting your eye in such good focus on a self portrait. I'd like to see more depth of field, especially on a shot like this with a white background where blurring the background isn't so critical. |

British Bulldog by robaComment: Love the subject and the grainy, high-contrast treatment. Hate the black bars. Would love to see a tiny bit looser crop over his head, but that may be constrained by the original capture. |

Peteby SaraRComment: The angle on this one is a little odd. I'd love to see a brighter catchlight in the eyes, and some different lighting to separate the subject from the background better (the hair and the background are very similar tone). |

Just Chill'nby IvoryComment: Love the sharpness. The light is a little harsh, but I think the B&W treatment makes that work a lot better. Perhaps cropped a little tight for my tastes. |

blues by IsabellSchatzComment: Good eye connection with the viewer. Not sure if I like the slanted perspective, makes it look like he's trapped in a room with a low ceiling and can't stand up straight. =) |

A Smile to Light the Worldby timoteComment: Great contrast, rich blacks really make the subject pop. Whatever he is doing with his hands draws my eye out of the frame, though. Wish they were in the frame. |

Male Portrait: A Gypsy Manby ikopanasComment: Nice background and good, unobtrusive use of fill (I'm assuming, since it's backlit). Lack of sharp focus detracts from the image, though. |

A Midsummer "day's" Dreamby ashishkushwahaComment: Don't know how you did the soft focus on this, but it's really hard to look at. Not because I don't like it, but it almost seems to vibrate and is very hard on my eyes. |
