Historic ‘Niagara On the Lake”by rileyComment: What's on those trees? The top of this picture is cropped in a rather strange spot (just shy of the top of this building), but other than that (and the tree mystery) I like this shot and could picture it in a travel guide. |

Sunset on the Lighthouse Trailby BeagleboyComment: Ah yes, the typical shot that I would find in a typical East Canadian Coast travel guide.
This is very well done. The sunrise balances the lighthouse nicely. Unless it's a sunset on the west coast, I guess!

Dinner in the Oregon District - Dayton, Ohioby stupidcatComment: First of all, I'm on the verge of loving this shot...here's what's stopping me:
Slight angle of the shot, which is most noticeable at the top of the frame.
The crappy reflections on the left window.
The out of focus couple.
The man's face is cut off (are they the subject or aren't they?)
The awkward thing (sign?) behind the top of the lamp post. Could this have been cropped slightly higher?
The good news is, I think I love everything else about this shot (compositionally speaking). If this shot was retaken with the right mood/lighting and some of the above issues fixed, and if it were taken in a way so that the older couple were the subjects and it was assumed that beautiful car was theirs and they were on a date, it would get a 9.
The potential for a very nice photo is here, I hope you get another try! Good eye!

Market Streetby banmornComment: Nice shot...part of me expects to see more at the bottom and wishes it wasn't cut off there...
Good shot, and overall I think it's well composed. |

Ons Islandby lsmartComment: Happy 8 to you! First one I've handed out...This is a fairly typical type of travel photo shot, but this is what the challenge is all about!
I see a little bit of mist in the background and I really wish there was more in the foreground (not so much that you can't see the island, of course)...
Perhaps a narrower vertical crop, as well.
Overall, pretty good! |

Partnership in Reykjavíkby russiComment: Fancy rainbow...very nice! My wish list:
I wish the annoying shadow wasn't on the statue.
I wish it was cropped just below the statue.
Pretty neat, though. |

Wakehurst Placeby marboComment: Fairly nice shot...too bad about the boring sky/lighting. It would be nice to see this taken with a more dramatic sky. |

Go With the Wind by ImagineerComment: I could be wrong, but the clouds seem a little overprocessed by a possible oversaturation of blue...I don't know what it is exactly, but something doesn't quite look right.
But let's ignore that for a sec...a nice photograph compositionally with a neat mood to it (rainy in the background, sunny in the foreground). I wish I could see more texture in the posts (?) and the sand, though. |

Here's Holland: Clogs, Cheese and ....by PhilosComment: This is definately a photo I could see in a travel guide. I think it's framed perfectly, though I am distracted by the grass in the bottom right corner of the frame.
Also, the sky seems to be an unpleasing shade of blue...
Very nice shot, though!
