Pumping Iron Under A Bare Bulbby xhossComment: Clever take on the challenge... The repetion of the bricks and the implied 'repetion' of the curls. I'm not sure if it's the lighting, or post processing, but there is something "missing" here. I wish I knew enough to be able to tell you what it is... Good effort! |

Overcast skyby faidoiComment: I'm undecided if the stone wall at the bottom adds anything here. I think if you crop just above it you have an extremely powerful image... But that's just me :) |

Summer Love On Coney Islandby tolyanchikComment: Great concept and it nails the challenge. 2 nitpicks though...
1 ~ The horizon id severly sloped and I don't feel it adds anything to the shot.
2 ~ you could take a lot off both the left and right and lose nothing. I feel that losing the left to the fence pole and losing the right to the volleyball net post (or even closer) would have left you with a much stronger image.
But that's just me. |

Confused Cowboyby AczarinaComment: Could have been a wonderful shot if you had payed more attention to the background... This challenge was about negative space, meaning everything that is not the subject. Take the same child and have a solid green lawn or even a solid white wall behind him and you have a MUCH stronger image.
Also, I've found when shooting children, especially young children, it often helps to be on the floor looking up at them or maybe eye to eye...
You have a great model to work with :) a little work on the technical aspects and you'll be all set :) |

Blackbear At Midnightby bruster54Comment: A study in lens cap? :) The bear is a little out of focus, but I like your use of depth of field... The horizon seems a little sloped to the left too... Extra point for humor :) |

The Essentialsby jgal76Comment: I have a feeling this will be overlooked by the 'artsy' folks, but this is one of the best I've seen this week. Definitely tells a story and that story is told largely by the negetive space. I hope this scores as well as it deserves, but frankly I think it will go over most folks head... Great work... ~10~ |

A Mother's Loveby BobsterLobsterComment: Wonderful image! I'm having a little trouble seeing it's challenge relevance though... Am I missing something obvious here? |

Inside A Lillyby katlynComment: It's a stretch for the challenge, but I tend to give the benefit of the doubt when possible. The lighting seemed a little strong in spots and nonexistent elsewhere. Composition is quite nice. |

Evil Plottingby JPRComment: This is an interesting image that has considerable technical merit... My only problem is I've been having a hard time relating it to the challenge. Am I missing something obvious here? Feel free to PM if you like. |
