Until I picked up on the shadows, I was going to score this a bit lower, but they really add interest to this shot, notably inside the slinky.

Given the challenge, I think your central subject is a bit weak. Granted, circles are here, but I wouldn't really have picked up on them that much had I not been directed to. The photo in and of itself is good, moody, and interesting.

Great color and contrast. I'd like to see less harsh lighting (normally I like harsh lighting, but to me it doesn't fit here) and maybe a less set-up feel (speaking of 'set-up', I can't talk...look at my photo at the end of the challenge). So, what am I saying? I'm a hypocrite. Again, great color. I'll leave now...thanks.

This shot is very flat and lacks any...'pop', you know? I think a different set up, maybe something else to compliment the orb...something....could really make this an interesting subject.

This is an astonishing shot that should place highly. Now I'm off to vote on 1) bugs 2) flowers 3) who knows?

Good luck in the challenge. I think you'll do just fine.

This is technically well executed, but that is it. I am honestly suprised that this wasn't DQ'd due to the literal representation clause...but I'm not a fan of that clause anyway. In the future, utilizing your obvious skill in the technical aspect of photography while employing a more artistic aproach should yield you better results.

Remind me never to borrow your camera...ever. A lot of talk is made here about shots that do well and shots that don't. You know this won't do well based soley on the subject alone. I mean, come on, Americans hate soccer - plain and simple.

I would like to see the focus here on the shell rather than the snail's flesh. Granted, the snail's flesh is interesting and highly textured, but the shell here is fascinating, looking like an old piece of furniture with an inlaid top and a shellac finish. Good composition and color, though.

Interesting subject...very unique here, unless a dragonfly is holding the fork or something...even then it's still unique. I can't decide whether or not I like how the shot is cropped. All at once, I'd like to see the drop that is falling (maybe because that is a common thing to see in shots of this type) and I am glad you cut it off, since it goes against convention, making it stand out. The shot is odd compositionally, but I can't put my finger on why. Good luck in the challenge - sorry I couldn't be more clear in my comment.

Comment:
Very delicate photo...why is the feather in water? Granted, it is a very small detail, and the way the surface of the water bends just slightly at the feather's touch does add to the softness, so it is a good choice, I suppose. I like you color choice and composition. I wish that macro shots could allow a greater depth of field, as the shallow depth here leaves me wanting more.
