Interesting subject...very unique here, unless a dragonfly is holding the fork or something...even then it's still unique. I can't decide whether or not I like how the shot is cropped. All at once, I'd like to see the drop that is falling (maybe because that is a common thing to see in shots of this type) and I am glad you cut it off, since it goes against convention, making it stand out. The shot is odd compositionally, but I can't put my finger on why. Good luck in the challenge - sorry I couldn't be more clear in my comment.

I think it is cropped too tight - shouldn't have cutoff the outer prongs. Godd job otherwise - unique!

Good idea & from what I can tell seems well executed, but you've resized it way too small.

This doesn't appeal to me very much, I am trying to figure out why.

Part of it is lighting. You have nice reflections on top of the fork but they don't carry down to the dripping liquid where they would really make the image pop. Maybe a light source from below and behind the image would have worked. Part has to do with the background. You could have used levels or curves or selective color modification to make the background a more interesting color ... either sharphly contrasting or complimenting the color of the liquid. But as is, the BG color is kind of blah. And finally part has to do with composition. I might have tried different angles on the fork and drips to get more of a triangular composition. And I might have rotated the fork a bit and shallowed the DOF so I had brilliant focus on one drop but softend the focus on the rest. I am not sure if this helps but these might have improved the picture.

Oh, and make it bigger. try to use all the pixels available to you or I can't see the details well enough.

i think this would be more effective if the big drip was in the frame

interesting idea. wish it was larger. the composition, while interesting, leaves me feeling a bit uneasy. perhaps its the cut-off tines/drips on the sides. the background color isn't very appealing for this image, imo.

I would suggest making the photo as large as DPC will allow, that way the voters can see all the detail in your shot! Especially this one, which has some really nice stuff to it. I like the composition a lot. You really get the sense of dripping. Good lighting, colors, and clarity on this shot.

This picture i realy like. I was not shure what it was until i read the title. But a stunning idea, the only thing you might have done is having the picture bigger. You can have the pictures at maxinum 640x640. Any way i give you 8 (might have been more if the image was bigger)
