I see you went with a b&w look. Very nice dream feel, I like it. Nice separation between the shadows, midtones, and highlights.

This picture is so close to the one that had the boy in the stream. Everything the same except the subject. I will state what I said in my comment on the other picture. Not saying it was yours but the results are the same to me. The surrounding scenery with its vibrant colors compete with the subject. I find myself looking down stream or down the road. Still a good shot and worthy of a good score

Surrounded by Beauty

You title says it all. Your subject is surrounded by beauty but so much that it takes the eye away from the subject, IMO. Very Nice capture with nice composition and colors. As I have said many times this is a hard challenge to vote. And I am torn from my regular voting pattern because of the definition of 'minimalism' and the challenge details. I would of scored this higher if there would of been more detail in the subject making it stand out. To me it seems kind of flat [subject]. But still I find it a good shot and think you did a good job. I hope this comment is not confusing, It was one of the hardest comments I had to make so far. I looked at this picture a long time and was pulled in both directions. I have to go with how I feel about the picture and thats a 6 or 7. The beauty within the picture i have to score it a 7. Good luck in the challenge.

Nice capture. Seems sightly OOF on the subject and I would of loved to seen it placed a little more to the right placing it on the thirds. Not because of the rule of thirds apply all the time but because the background tree to the right is slightly distracting. Buy moving the subject to the right you would of achieved a better composition and that distraction [tree] would of been eliminated. However I still like your picture and feel you did a good job 6

Nice shot, good colors and I like the way you framed the picture with the tree leaves. Would be a great place to take a late evening shot and slow the shutter down to give a smooth flow of water over the falls.

There for a sec or two I though you lived near my town until I looked at your profile. About 10 miles from my house we have a tower just like that. I want to climb it so bad and take pictures from atop but it has a fence with barb wire around it and it's locked. I don't know if you thought the same thing but it would be a good view from there.

Good picture and meets the challenge [6]. However I would like to comment on your photo a little more. I think you photograph would of been more powerful if just a few minor details would of been different. I feel as if I'm the ump squatting down behind the plate. The problem is the pictures center of the rubber is slightly to the right of the center of the plate drawing my eyes to the right. If it would of been lined up vertically in the picture IMO the composition would of been better keeping my eyes to the left. Still a unique approach and good photograph.
