Thanks for all the comments/votes. Couple things I would had done different.
1) should had came earlier, when the field was all one color and the white lines where sharp and clean.
2)might had composed straight from the plate to the ball/mound. (I like the fill the ball gives out of focus)
Thanks again.................ace

edit; PS: even though the title shouldnt make a shot, I'd change it to "Bring It On" if I'd had changed he composition.

Nice but would have been much better without the green ball.

Odd...but not in a bad way. The inclusion of the football helmet and what I believe is a tennis ball is a little jarring to the viewer, but again...not in a bad way. I'm sorry if I'm not expressing myself well here...I can't put my finger on what made me say "hmm" when this photo loaded.

alright, but it's pretty plain, 3

I like this but might have scored it higher if it had more depth of field so that the ball was also in focus too

I wish the ball wasn't on the mound. Although it is not in focus, for me it is a distraction and the "strong point" of the image IMO (it is the first thing I am drawn to). Good Luck.

Now up to bat, the worlds shortest player...

Good picture and meets the challenge [6]. However I would like to comment on your photo a little more. I think you photograph would of been more powerful if just a few minor details would of been different. I feel as if I'm the ump squatting down behind the plate. The problem is the pictures center of the rubber is slightly to the right of the center of the plate drawing my eyes to the right. If it would of been lined up vertically in the picture IMO the composition would of been better keeping my eyes to the left. Still a unique approach and good photograph.

It's a good composition, but my eye goes right to the neon green softball, which im sure isnt the subject since its out of focus. I think I would have cropped this so that the ball didnt distract.

Football helmet, tennis ball, baseball diamond. Might have done just about as well in the jewelry challenge.

Very good minimalism here. The three could of been place side by side on an area where the ground is a constant colour. 9

Minimal yes, but doesn't have the simple elegance I associate with minimalism.
