This is cool, but the background is too similar in color to the butterfly's wings, so there isn't a good separation of the foreground and background.

This is very nice. The lighting is great, especially inside the mouth where it is a smooth gradient all the way back. Great idea for a picture too.

There is a slight feeling of pixellation or something, however (noticable for instance on the front face of the chocolate). Since the image is only 39KB, it is probably overcompressed JPEG, causing artifacts. Minus one point for that, but still this gets an 8.

Wow! I love this. It's one of my favorite photographs ever. I can't understand how it only got third place. The dragonfly picture is pretty nice, as is the bee pic, but this is so much more beautiful that it's not even fair.

Wow! Very well done. Great idea. Well executed. I wonder if a different background than the off-white (paper?) would make it even better? It kind of makes the image feel like it has a yellowish color cast. 8.
