Oh I'm so familiar with this :))). I can imagine the taste, this is close to our own "ajvar", similar to this but a bit more coarse, more like bits of paprika baked on a grill and then fried with some other ingredients. This time of year you can smell it around here :). Didn't know it can be made as jam :).
