Aloneby milo655321Comment: Nice title. Really puts it into perspective. I like the highlights visible on his body and legs. The large tree in the background effectively serves to emphasize the feeling of despair. |

Religion - one of the most destructive forces in the worldby spookComment: I'm giving this one a high score because the title really does it for me. Takes guts to say that out loud. I also like the silhouette against the light cloud. The halo is a little distracting to me, and I wonder how it would have looked as a vertical image with more of the steeple showing? |

The Gate To Darknessby lucasComment: It's definitely dark. I like the concept, but it might have worked better for me if there was a little more detail available. And because of the faintness of the image, the white in the border distracts from the image. |

Follow Me Into...by C-town driverComment: Love the composition of this one. The white area on the left effectively serves as an entry point. My eye is immediately drawn in and follows the white rail right into the darkness. The pole emphasizes this, by acting as an arrow pointing down. Much more than a picture of a stairway. |

Darkness for a Few More Daysby jelly beanComment: I like the unique idea and how it made me think for a moment before I got it. Not real crazy about the execution of the image. It seems too much like a snapshot. |

Fighting Daylightby ttibbyComment: I like the concept and the sense of hopelessness it invokes, but something keeps it from "popping". Compositionally, the tree trunks serve to draw my eye out of the picture frame. And speaking of picture frame...It's a little much to suite me. |

Darkness is poverty that cannot be escapedby jimmspComment: Very nice. Brings up a lot of emotion for me. Glad I looked at it carefully. I almost missed the figure in the doorway. Nice contradiction with the cheerful colors and depressing grunge. |

A Light at the Endby JPRComment: Doesn't look like he'll have time to smoke much of that cigarette. I think some people have issues with the suicide images, but it doesn't affect my vote. It seems like you went to some lengths to portray what darkness means to you. It gets an emotional response from me, and that's art in my eyes. Love the "Blitz" on the gas can too. |

Surrounded by the Dark Agesby janbruderComment: Love it. The fisheye emphasizes the ominous feeling. I also like that you can just barely make out the clouds in the sky. To me it's better than were it solid black. I find the flare at the lower left to be minimally distracting, but not enough to keep me from voting high on the image. |
