It just dawned on me that you shot this... I just have to reiterate that this IMHO is one of the most underrated shots on the entire site. There is so much emotion and artistry here that it boggles the mind. Sure, it's dark and disturbing, but aren't some of our strongest thoughts?!?! I knew there was something missing when I reviewed my Favorites list yesterday - this was it. Truly a superb, award-winning image. Kudos...

WWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAH!
Okay okay okay.
I love this.
The tree branch shadows (I think that's what it is) are almost magick.
Your the man.
Looks like a scene from a movie I would make. ;-)

Jimi Hendrix just put the lighter fluid on his guitar not over himself...learn from the master and enjoy pain-free music.

i do not understand the combination of a gascan and a guitar and a man about to light a cigarete? I am sure there is deeper meaning than what i am seeing..?

Awesome composition & colour. Can't figure out how the guitar figures into the scene though - but it does add some good earthy colours to the shot. Lighting is spot-on.

This is extemely well lite and well photographed, and for once, I'll not let my distaste for the subject matter affect my voting.. I'll score this an 8.

the fact that the man is sweating (or appears to be) totally makes this photo, and I think if anything the gas container and guitar are a distraction. 7 for creativity

powerful imagery, and the intense look on the subjects face really make this stand out.

Doesn't look like he'll have time to smoke much of that cigarette. I think some people have issues with the suicide images, but it doesn't affect my vote. It seems like you went to some lengths to portray what darkness means to you. It gets an emotional response from me, and that's art in my eyes. Love the "Blitz" on the gas can too.

The image is technically well done, but somewhat cliche. I'd also question the violin. If the theme is suicide, then music seems to distract from it. If the theme is frustrated musician, then there isn't enough supporting elements for the musical side.
