wonderful textures and colors - I love the depth of the rust on the wrench. my preference for composition would be to have the focus on the right side instead of the left, to draw the eye across the frame instead of straight back. great work.

Wonderful textures and colors. I really like the angle and composition you created with the different lines running through the frame.

Greetings from the Critique Club

Composition: Very intresting. You have strong diagonal lines with excellent forced perspective. I question the crop of the photo - I think I'd like to see the louvers framed to start more to the left for a pleasing line that keeps the eye in frame.

Background: great muted color and soft focus on the grid.

Camera Work: (Focus/DOF/Exposure) Great DOF and focus on the foreground elements. The edges are nice and crisp and add to the color difference along the edge.

Post Processing: n/a

The Challenge: Wonderful abstract, great muted colors and compelling lines.

My Opinion: I like the pallette and color balance very much. The muted tones and dreamy quality are wonderfully evocative - it gives the feel that this object is from the fifties because of the blueness of the white. The composition of lines is only slightly off to me - an angle that gives a greater incline to the louvers or a crop or shift to the left would also help, IMO.

beautiful watercolor or pen and ink quality to this - I love the face, the wide open doors. Your framing and composition is excellent. Good luck!

wonderful in its simplicity. the contrast of the white and the light green of the insect is great, as is the compositon with its head down and the curve of the glass.

Fabulous expression - great lighting. More than just a snap of a baby, a really nice composition, skin tone is wonderful and the eyes are great. It almost looks like the baby is holding the camera and taking the photo.

Greetings from the Critique Club

Composition: the composition works for me on a color level - I love the color of the sky, how it's the same as the bars on the fence and then the blues of the water. However, I have not found a successful subject in the photo - I don't know if it's the lake itself or the boat or the trees. Perhaps getting closer to the sailboat and taking the same view again would be more successful.

Background: great sense of perspective and nice sky.

Camera Work: (Focus/DOF/Exposure) - the focus is just slightly off or maybe it's a sharpening issue. Only the posts in the foreground seem sharp.

Post Processing: The exposure on the cement is a little hot, but I don't mind it. The colors are super-saturated, but I don't mind that either. I'd hate for you to lose the trio of blues.

The Challenge: It fits the challenge well.

My Opinion: It gives a great sense of space and shows a wonderful public area. Without a clear sense of subject though, it leaves me a little less than ethused as a piece of art, but it certainly would make me want to take a walk in that park if I were in the area.

I hope these comments have been of help to you. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions about my notes here.

I love the texture of this, the depth of the flakes of old paint and the rust beneath. The framing is good with a nice sense of composition and dof.
