Macro that needs workby DirtypainterComment: This may have been taken between 4:00 and 5:00 AM but there is nothing in the photo that relates to the spirit of the challenge. |

a late-night/early morning snackby nerdynotdirtyComment: This doesn't hold my interest. It is a common enough experience that folks can resonate with it, but when you take a photo of something common, you need something uncommon in the image to hold people's eye. |

Just another night for a video game fanby nlghttrainComment: The dark area around the screen hints at details that might be there, but it is so dark, I can't make any of them out. My monitor is calibrated by the way. If I copy and paste the image into Photoshop, it brightens up somewhat. I am wondering if you saved the image in a color space other than sRGB (possibly B&W or Grayscale) which might account for it when it's displayed in my IE6 browser. |

No Snooze Buttonby GeneralEComment: Without the title, I would not have been able to figure out what was being photographed. This is a matter of personal taste, but for me, I need something for my eye to rest on and I can't find anything here. |

Turn. That. Light. Off.by NordlysComment: This does a nice job conveying the emotion implied by the title. Well composed and leveled. It might be a bit oversharpened, at least to my taste, but the sharpening is effective at capturing the texture of the face. If advanced editing were available, I might have cloned out a few hot pixels, but they don't distract very much at all. Nicely done! |

Absolute Still by SkipComment: Beautiful photo. I like the colors very much. Placement of the horizon and the house in the frame show a very good sense of design and balance. The direction of the camera relative to the rising sun does a nice job catching the dawn's gradient sky. I also like that you caught some stars ... they add a sense of scale to the photo that would be missing otherwise. In short, beautiful setting, beautiful time of day, beautifully captured. I expect it to ribbon. |

Waxing Gibbousby marboComment: Nice moon shot. From your corner of the world, your angle shows more craters than a similar moon shot in this challenge. Both shots have areas that look a little over sharpened. |

Rays of Hopeby mystardreamComment: It may be the hill, but the photo gives the impression of being slightly tilted (down a bit on the right). Whether illusion or an actual tilt, rotating it CCW a little would have improved this in my opinion. Not sure I've ever seen a "Rays of Hope" greeting card catagory. |

Thinking Of Youby woodseyComment: I like the composition and colors of this. It has very good DOF. A stronger focus would have raised my vote a couple of points. |
