Not too much to say about this one I used shutter priority on my camera at 1/4s and hoped my groggy eyes kept everything else in focus

Greetings from the Critique Club!

The image in itself lacks the "punch" that most DPCers are looking for in all our challenges. The use of BW, in my opinion, added to the lack luster display that most people saw during the voting process.

The image for one is too dark and the main focus, which is the monitor of your television, is too bright and lacks definition. there is an amount of visible noise that is apparent in this image.

In my opinion, if this image were in color as opposed to a desaturated image, there would have been a bit more interest. The silhouette is great and adds visual drama however, the bright screen overpowers this and most DPCers including myself will just give this a 4 and move on.

Light and detail is the key to make your audience stop and let the image sink in. As always, these are just my personal opinions on this image. Please take it with a grain of salt. We are all out here to learn ;)

I have seen your portfolio and there is promise of definitely breaking out of the 4 slump. Keep on shooting and continue to learn from the folks in our group!

I'd like to see a more balanced exposure. Who's playing the game, what about a face or something perhaps? If that's what that is, I honestly can't tell, i'd like to see more light, and detail there.

Late night gamming and MR is a 'on the money' reality. Good photo.

The dark area around the screen hints at details that might be there, but it is so dark, I can't make any of them out. My monitor is calibrated by the way. If I copy and paste the image into Photoshop, it brightens up somewhat. I am wondering if you saved the image in a color space other than sRGB (possibly B&W or Grayscale) which might account for it when it's displayed in my IE6 browser.

I wish there was more to see .. it's a bit too dark with the harsh tv screen.

I think the fan in the picture should have had more light on him, perhaps if he/she was closer to the TV glow. Difficult to see any detail other than the TV screen.

there is not very much appeal for the viewer in this image. It is just a tv scrren and what may be a reflectiionof the screen onto something or someone?
